An explosion has been reported from Kabul even as the Taliban is celebrating August 31, the day which marks the withdrawal of the last US soldier from Afghanistan.

Local sources confirmed that the explosion has taken place in Khair Khana area in District 11 of Kabul.

The sound of the explosion has also been heard in other parts of the capital city.

Taliban officials have not commented on the explosion so far.
