Indian, Central Asian Officials Call For Inclusive Govt & Women Rights in Afghanistan

Representatives of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the United Nations emphasised on the formation of an inclusive government, women’s rights, and respect for minorities in Afghanistan.

The New Delhi meeting has been the first joint working group meet of India and Central Asian nations, which was held on Tuesday.

The participants exchanged opinions about the current situation in Afghanistan, including the political, security, and humanitarian situation of the country.

Preventing the dangers of terrorism, extremism, and drug trafficking in India and Central Asia have been other issues of discussion by the participants.

According to Indian media, it was also emphasised that Afghanistan's soil should not be used by terrorist groups.

The representative of the United Nations World Food Programme also explained the need of the Afghan people for humanitarian aid during the New Delhi meeting.
