Iran Returned Over 2,000 Afghan Refugees To Afghanistan, Says Taliban

The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees announced that 2,576 Afghan refugees have returned to Afghanistan from Iran.

Taliban officials in Herat Province said that 292 of these returnees have been referred to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) so that they can receive support and assistance.

These Afghan refugees entered Afghanistan from the Islam Qala border on Wednesday.

In recent days, Iran has increased pressure on Afghan refugees, and those who do not have legal residence documents are being forcibly deported to Afghanistan.
