Afghan-French Journalist’s Wife Urges World Not To Forget Him 273 Days After His Detention

Over 273 days after the detention of Mortaza Behboudi, an Afghan-French journalist, his wife, Aleksandra Mostovaja, has appealed to the international community, urging them not to forget him.

On Saturday, Alexandra Mastavaja, on X social platform asked the Taliban to immediately release her husband from prison.

Morteza Behboudi arrived in Kabul in January 2023 to report on the situation in Afghanistan, and the Taliban arrested him two days later.

Reporters Without Borders had previously said that the Taliban arrested Behboudi on the suspicion of "espionage", but they did not provide any evidence to prove the accusation.

His detention has faced widespread reactions during the past months. Amnesty International and Reporters Without Borders had repeatedly called for his immediate and unconditional release.
