5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Parts of Afghanistan & Tajikistan

Local sources in Badakhshan said that a relatively strong earthquake shook parts of this province in northern Afghanistan on Monday afternoon.

The US Geological Survey stated that the earthquake measured a magnitude of 5.3, with its epicentre located in the village of Karakenja in Tajikistan.

There are no reports of possible damages or casualties from the earthquake yet.
