In response to a recent explosion in Kandahar that caused the death of one group member and injuries to three others, the Taliban governor’s office has announced a meeting aimed at bolstering security.

This gathering included Taliban's security officials and intelligence chiefs from various Kandahar districts.

The statement from the governor's office quotes Mullah Shirin, stating during the meeting, "Everyone is accountable in this world and the hereafter, but success belongs to those who best fulfil their entrusted responsibilities."

He further directed officials to equip the Taliban security forces adequately to ensure the province's safety. The meeting took place on Tuesday, directly following the blast.

Mullah Shirin urged the group’s security officials to diligently oversee the security forces, rectify any errors, and coordinate patrols to fortify security throughout the area.

Deputy Governor Hayat Mubarak emphasised on the importance of evaluating the deployment of forces across all operations and keeping the security personnel well-informed of their responsibilities.

He highlighted the significance of discipline and rewards in fostering the system's growth, stating, "Those who fulfil their duties diligently deserve rewards, while those who falter should face consequences."

Kandahar, being a significant stronghold for the Taliban leadership, has experienced numerous bombings. The latest reported incident on Monday in the city centre resulted in six fatalities, including four Taliban members, and fifteen injuries. In contrast, official Taliban reports acknowledged only one death and three injuries from this explosion.
