Facebook, Instagram Reportedly Blocked Across Several Afghan Provinces

Residents in multiple Afghan provinces say access to Facebook and Instagram has been blocked, with the platforms only reachable through virtual private networks (VPNs), according to reports received by Afghanistan International.

Locals in Kabul, Parwan, Balkh, Samangan, and Faryab said the social media disruption began recently. Some users also reported being unable to log into Snapchat.

The Taliban authorities have not commented on the reported restrictions.
