Taliban Threatens To Expel Pakistan’s Ambassador If Strikes Continue
Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesperson for the Taliban, condemned Pakistan’s continued airstrikes on Afghan cities and said the group could close Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul if the attacks persist.
Speaking at a news conference in Kabul, Fitrat said confrontation was not the Taliban’s first choice and that the war had been imposed on them. He added that shutting down consulates or embassies would be a temporary measure.
The Taliban official said Pakistani strikes in the provinces of Kabul, Laghman, Kandahar, Kunar, Khost, Paktika and Nangarhar had damaged public facilities, mosques, residential homes and refugee camps.
