Afghanistan International Journalist Wins East-West Center’s Award

Parwiz Kawa, Afghanistan International News Editor in DC, won the East-West Center (EWC) Journalist of Courage and Impact award on Tuesday 28th June for his services to the Afghan media.

Mr. Kawa received the award for his services to the Afghan media including for his recent work to cover the takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban.

He led Afghanistan International team in DC and provided extensive coverage of the breaking news. Parwiz Kawa previously worked as the Editor of Hashte Subh daily. The award was presented to him during a three-day conference held at the EWC’s headquarters in Hawaii.
