Sources in Mazar-i-Sharif have reported a heavy presence of Taliban fighters across the city.
They said that the capital city of Balkh province has been completely transformed into a fortified military station after Wednesday’s explosion.
According to the sources, serious disagreements between the Taliban’s head and deputy of intelligence in the province have arisen and both sides have taken actions against each other.
This incident comes after an explosion occurred at 11am on Wednesday near the gate of Balkh in Mazar-i-Sharif city, sources told Afghanistan International.
Taliban confirmed the explosion and announced that six people had been injured in this incident.
No one has claimed responsibility for the explosion yet, even though IS-K has been claiming responsibility for such attacks.
Several days ago, the Taliban’s spokesperson said that the group is facing intelligence failures.
