Bashir Noorzai, an Afghan drug trafficker and one of the first financiers of the Taliban group, has been released from Guantanamo prison.

Sources close to the Taliban said that Noorzai had arrived in Kabul on Monday morning.

The Taliban have published pictures which depict Noorzai meeting the group’s officials.
