Taliban Official Warns of Instability Upon Weakening of Group

Oct 18, 2022, 15:03 GMT+1

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid warned that if the Taliban weakened, Afghanistan will become unstable. He added that instability in Afghanistan will put the region and the world in danger.

Mujahid also criticised the US policies towards the Taliban and said that pressurising and using of force against the group is not the solution. He added that such policies will create confusion among Afghans.

He emphasised that the solution forward is for the United States to stop exerting economic pressure on the Taliban and said that such policies have not been successful.
