The Taliban police spokesperson in Kabul confirmed to Afghanistan International that a group of armed men have attacked a hotel in the Share-Naw area of Kabul. Chinese media reports state that the hotel is a residence for Chinese citizens in Kabul.
Earlier, Reuters reported that gunmen had opened fire inside a building in Kabul where several foreigners have been living.
The Chinese embassy in Kabul has not commented on the attack so far.
Agence France-Presse (AFP) quoted witnesses as saying that the sound of an explosion and shooting was heard near a famous Chinese guest house in Kabul.
"The explosion was very strong and then, there was a lot of gunfire," the witness told AFP.
There are no reports about the casualties of this attack and no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
