The Taliban-controlled Bakhtar News Agency claimed on Thursday that Taliban members have killed a senior ISIS commander along with an accomplice in Nangarhar.

The ISIS commander has been killed in a special operation of the Taliban.

Bakhtar quoted local Taliban officials as saying that the operation was carried out on Wednesday evening in the village of Wachtangi in the Shiwa district of Nangarhar province.

Although the Taliban continuously deny the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan, the group sends out periodic reports of operations against ISIS across the country.
