Iran, Pakistan Deport Over 3000 Afghan Migrants in Single Day

Iran and Pakistan expelled a total of 3099 Afghan migrants on Friday, 23 May, the Taliban’s High Commission for Addressing Migrants’ Issues announced. Of those deported, 1912 returned from Iran and 1187 from Pakistan.

According to the commission, each returnee received 5.192 million Afghanis in assistance. They re-entered Afghanistan via the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Bahramcha, Pul-e-Abrisham and Islam Qala border crossings.

From Kabul, authorities organised onward transportation for 588 migrants to their home provinces, including Paktia, Khost, Laghman, Nangarhar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Takhar, Samangan, Balkh, Badakhshan, Faryab and Sar-e Pol.
