Taliban Publicly Flog 18 For Drugs, Theft, Sex Offences In Kabul & Laghman

The Taliban’s Supreme Court announced on Saturday that it has publicly flogged 18 individuals in Kabul and Laghman provinces on charges of drug trafficking, extramarital sexual relations and theft. All were also sentenced to prison terms of between seven months and six years.

In Kabul, 11 people convicted of trafficking and selling intoxicating pills, identified as “Zikap,” “Tablet K”, and hashish received sentences of seven months to three years and six months in prison, plus between 10 and 39 lashes apiece.

In Laghman, seven individuals were each handed prison terms of five to six years and 30 to 39 lashes.
